About Master Khechen
Master Khechen began his martial arts journey at a young age growing up in Venezuela. By the time he was 19 years old, he had won numerous tournament championships, including the Venezuelan National Championships and the South American Championships. After moving to Western New York to attend the University at Buffalo, Master Khechen sought to continue his training and did so at the Robert Summers School of Tae Kwon-Do, where he also worked as an instructor. While working to receive his PhD in electrical engineering, Master Khechen continued to be an extremely successful tournament competitor, winning countless forms and fighting championships throughout Western New York and the east coast.
When Master Summers moved from Buffalo to North Carolina, Master Khechen bought the school from him and renamed it the Master Khechen School of Tae Kwon-Do. During this time the school began to grow as Master Khechen poured his heart and soul into his teaching. Over the next few years, two new schools were opened under his name by Master Cross and Master Wright as Master Khechen's main school on Elmwood Avenue grew to capacity. Finally, in 2001, the school grew too big for it's current location and moved to it's current location on Kenmore Avenue. In 2003, Master Khechen again opened a new location in Williamsville, run by Master Schiele. Then in 2008 opened his newest location in Lancaster, run by Mr. Greco.
